Footflaps – yes I have a fully working a500+ with hard drive and games. (It’s not this one though, this is just a joke based on another thread)

C64 and Spectrum were much earlier, it’s like comparing an iPhone to a 3210 . ( hides geekness)

I think it was something wrong with the boot loader (kickstart?) but it’s been a while!

This sounds really sad. But I always thought the Amiga was a good looking home computer.

I had a Jupiter Ace and an Oric Atmos.

Still a great machine. I have 2 in the loft, both 500’s. I haven’t fired them up in ages, tbh, emulators ftw.

Speedball 2, Warhead, Subwar 2050, Thunderhawk, Phobia, Zeewolf 1 and 2. Lovely.

Funny, just cleared out my retro games collection and all I’m left with are the Amiga games.
Anyone want to make an offer?

We would have KILLED for any of the ‘forementioned. My stepdad was an early adopter of Basic and bought a Sharp MZ80k. The games were unutterably naff. Strip poker was shattering in its disappointment 🙁

    No idea mate.
All I know is it’s Harlton Cheston with a bloody big gun.
    From The Omega Man.

You can’t see the join, can you?

Bet he could get loads of bunnies on Blackley golf course with that.

    I like your watch btw.
I used to love those placcy strapped TAGs from the same era.
Wish I’d got one when I had the chance.

I have an Atari ST (actually mine from the 90s) in the loft and a load of games. I bought a hard drive for it (16MB!) in 1998 when I was at uni, and I recently completed the set with the lovely 12″ monochrome monitor – that was £20. Pointless but one of the few ‘collectable’ purchases I’ve ever made. Booted it up a while ago, all my stuff was still on the HD 🙂 Might have to do something to preserve all those floppies though. Maybe I’ll bring it down to the living room and see if I can play Buggy Boy on a 40″ LCD telly 🙂

More of an Oric Atmos 48k man myself.

Also in the loft I have an Oric 1 but it’s sadly not my original one. I had that for a long time along with the original telly and tape recorder we got for it, a load of games, books and even those magazines with games to type in.

all I can say is that you better have some decent games on your phone while you wait for the games to load

My first computer was an Amiga A1500 – 1mb “Chip” RAM and 2 3.5″ in a massive empty box. Got an AGA 1200 a few years later, it had a whopping 127mb HDD and 2mb “Chip” RAM then added an ‘030 accelerator and another 4mb “Fast” RAM.

    Xenon II Megablast
    Turrican
    Populous
    Sim City
    Lemmings
Worms – IIRC that was the result of a competition run by Team 17 and Amiga Format
    Zool
    All the Microprose flight sims
    Deluxe Paint
Imagine – it came free on the cover of Amiga Format one month and had me hooked!

    Happy Days!

I had an Amiga 500 which was brilliant.

I always wanted a Jupiter Ace though as I wanted to learn Forth. Having the OBP on SUN/SPARC machines helped that along a bit. There’s still a few machines around the country that say stuff if you type ‘adam’ at the boot prompt! 😀
