Always wanted to see how that setup worked in the flesh. It was their integrated stem/steerer and was used to preload a headset long before Aheadsets were invented.

It should be easy to fit, all being well.

It'll seem a bit strange having the Hope Head Doctor at the bottom on the steerer 😆

Makes the stem look really clean and simple 8)

errr…thats for a RC100 with the custom headset. DON'T cut it PLEASE as there aren't many of those around and it would be a total waste. Sell it on Retrobike then get one of the later pace stems.

Do your bit for humanity 😮

I assumed you'd got the fork crown and headset to go with it. In which case, it would work in whatever frame you put the cups into wouldn't it?

I've got a bolt in crown on my RC35 fork and it should work with a standard ahead headset.

It should just be a case of trimming the steerer 2mm short of the required length, then fitting the Head Doctor at the bottom of the steerer.

That should work, although to test it, I'd slip a spacer on the stem rather than cut the steerer down.

It's such a shame that they don't still make stuff like that

Pace employed a lot of cutting edge stuff in their hayday.

    Bullseye cranks
    Square tubes
    bolt through hubs
    Hydraulic brakes
    cartridge bearing hubs
    Quilless stems

Something that big usually needs planning permission.

But the Ancient Monument status should cover it.
