Well, tomorrow actually since I got my first ‘mountain bike’, I was 9. It was a Black Rock, I’m not sure whether that was the make or the model name. Can anyone remember these bikes? I’d love to see a photo of one. It was black with huge bull bars. Sadly it was stolen and replaced with a Raleigh Max a few years later.

You’ve just reminded me that it was 20 years ago tomorrow that I got my first proper mountainbike, I was 13 and it was a Kona Hahannah!

The memories have just flooded back looking at that photo. Think I might get some Bull Bars for my Soul 8)

First bike a couple of years after I got it.

i can remember seeing grifters welded together with bmx’s to create a hybrid back in the early eighties at bmx races.
