I’m using the Hope 40t, swapped out the 17t and replaced the 15t with a 16t.
    34 or 32 up front , can’t see the need for a 42t!
Wouldn’t go back to double ever again.

Drop to a 30t at the front and get a Hope trex in 40t. Win.

Also, why dont you just buy a Oneup ring? Jsut actuslly really quite good. Dont tell Hope, but i think theyre better.

I have made up some adaptors that take a 104 BCD chainring, DXF file available if anyone fancys a go, I use a 40t XT ring with a zee mech.
one chap made a 38-44 sandwich with it, he had to mod the RD to make it work.

Are people still having trouble with backpedalling the chain off, with Hope? Wasn’t sure if that was a real problem or just setup issues but it seemed pretty common

I’m running two T-Rex’s and I haven’t experienced that problem. I do quite a bit of back peddling too on the more techy climbs when i need to avoid pedal strike. Were the reported issues on here?

Any chance you could send me the dxf? I have a similar project on the go. Email in profile. Thanks

I raised the inital thread about the backpeddling issue. It still happens but i never notice it on a ride, so its a non problem.

No problems with my Hope T-Rex back-pedalling, it’s been faultless so far 😀

My wolftooth has been faultless. Bit chunkier than the oneup and its shimano/SRAM specific so no need for a spacer.

    Work with shimano xt cassette?

M770? not 100% sure I dont have one handy, it wont work with the srams with alloy carriers like PG980 etc, the bolts clash with the 5 mounts unfortunately, you can only get 2 bolts in without removing a bit too much material for comfort!

If you have a 104BCD chainring handy line it up with the back of your cass to check if the bolts will clear.

Hmmm, don’t think it will work,as the xt has a 5 arm spider that looks the same as the 980.

I imagine when he has had time to copy other manufacturers…

Plenty if options now, e13, twentysix, wolf tooth, oneup, hope and a host of small guys.

If it wasn’t for any of the above ‘copying’ then SRAM and their ridiculous XX1 prices would be all we would have.

And then make them himself and knock them out cheaper than the rivals.

Its not a new business model and he does it rather well, what’s your problem with it exactly?

No connection to superstar here other than being a brake pad fan.

At least two of the doods involved with Oneup are British (albeit living abroad) and they ship out of the UK IIRC.
