    …the maximum speed attainable from a particular gear ratio?

    i.e. on a level road, with no wind, 32/16 setup & 26″ wheels you maximum speed is X before you spin out?

    Use the Sheldon Brown gear calculator – you can work out speed at certain RPM

    Used Sheldons to calculate what ratio to use for our Pompinos for a road tour.
