I thought that fat guy was advertising a "specialist" type of site when i first saw it. Didn't think i had paid for Premium membership 😯

its works as an advert as you notice it

True. First thing I saw when I opened my laptop up.

It's not my wallpaper by the way.

Disagree Jedi – noticing is one thing, having empathy with the product because of it is another thing completely. I wonder how sales are for their tees compared to previous ads?

They sell tees? I just scrolled down as fast as I could.

After seeing that ad, I resolved never to buy one of their tee shirts. It's gratuitous to say the least.

God you're all so sensitive sometimes. 🙄
I've visited their site on the basis of that advert.

    Tees aren't that great anyway.

I'm not sensitive but I am in advertising/creatve and I just don't think they know their target audience. No doubt some people will be compelled to buy after seeing it but I would have thought it would disuade more potential purchasers.

I think Mark said it was one of (if not the) highest clicked-on Ads they've ever run…

indeed. I saw the "Cover the fat guy" logo and thought "Ah that sounds like just the thing!"

    As I am currently naked.

its the daily mail of internet advertising, I pity the fool who has to take the photos/suggest its a "good/edgy" campaign.

do you think he was photoshopped like so many models out there?

I was wondering what you were all on about to be honest. I assume it was the advert at the top of this site a few weeks back yes? If it was I thought it was in bad taste. An absolute shocker of media advertising.

I'd never visit their site, it turns my (rather large) stomach

The ad may generate click- throughs ( I admit I did) but I had no intention of buying. Still would like to know if the campaign had a positive effect on like-for-like sales but I doubt they know – it seems a rather unsophisticated attempt at being controversial in the assumption it will generate sales.

Hmm.. I think you lot are overanalysing this a bit.. my thought process was pretty much just "What the.. Arf!.. Oh t-shirts *click*"

The only reason my click didn't convert to sale was that I didn't like the t-shirts much.

Possibly am but it is my job so I tend to . And if I was a sales manager I would be planning targeted campaigns not stab in the dark adverts. Perhaps they aren't a very sophistimicated business.

I think I've said before, get it removed, it's horrid and my kids agree with me, unusually.
