This was in the stuff (gadget mag) newsletter, looks fairly decent, but a bit pricey. think its £70 in the UK.

Not sure about the magnet bit though, wont that bugger with any GPS/Compass stuff if you are using it?

why would you strap an expensive phone to your bike in a non waterprrof case?
Get a Garmain instead if you want mapping, tracking etc.

    Exactly!

£70 is halfway to a Garmin Dakota 20 with maps on it….

Looks identical to the much cheaper Topeak Ridecase.

I am with mike – dont see the logic. – not to mention its not even discrete – it places your phone right in the danger zone for any off.

“wont that bugger with any GPS/Compass stuff if you are using it?”

How strong do you think this magnet is to bugger up your compass.

What happens if you crash and break your Garmin then? they’re nearly as expensive as a new phone…

    LOL

yes because garmins were not designed to be strapped to a bike…..

my garmins much much smaller than an iphone also …. .

It’s waterproof, smaller and quite robust. The mount in the pics has holes in it for water to get in which will kill the phone. The garmain is sealed… any other questions?

My Garmin 705 has survived lots of offs, I’d hate to think how many phones I’d have got through in that amount of time. Agree also – what’s the point if it’s not waterproof? Designed in California? 🙂

Edit: Apparently “Includes RokSack weather guard” whatever that might be

Top-tube/tank bag FTW. £5 of ebay. Keeps my £50 phone safe and dry.
