Evening all. Thinking of hiring a motorhome to hopefully tour a bit of Scotland. I would like to take the bike and maybe ride Glentress or Interleithen (or some of the 7 Staines. Open to suggestions on where to go!) on route. My question is could a motorhome be taken to any of the trail heads ok or is there height restrictions for example? Any suggestions for nice sites? Cheers.

No height restrictions at GT or Inners, although the bottom car park at GT is a bit tight when busy. Might be better parking at the top carpark.

You can park at Inners, and it’s only 20 mins ride to GT – or a couple of hours the long way around.

For GT it depends how big a motorhome you’re hiring.

Stanes, not Staines. But aye – no height restrictions at either. There is also a layby just outside of Peebles you could park in then either ride along the cycle path, or head up into GT the back way. Dont think there’s a height restriction at the car park for Gypsy Glen either.

Or just the first overflow carpark at the bottom

    True enough legend.

At GT just do what everyone else with large motorhomes do, park up a Buzzards nest carpark and stay overnight, no one will bother you.

The cycle path now runs the whole way between peebles and innerleithen. For innerleithen you can use the red bull car park or if you fancy the caravan site it’s only 2 mins pedal from the hill.
