    In order of occurrence:
    1. A stunning aerobatic display above Anglezarke Moor
    2. The remains of someone’s granny (or other relative/pet) dumped beside the descent starting near Wilderswood
    3. A guy on a very green bike, who denied being Mint Imperial

The remains were cremated ashes, not a decomposing body 😯
I think you are meant to scatter them, not dump in a heap to blow onto passing mountain-bikers
At least they added some flowers . . .

I saw a naked man walking down one of our trails once. Well, he had a waistcoat on, so not completely naked, but still.

On a Rivington night ride a couple of summers back, we were doing the cheeky from near the top of wilderswood upto the mast road.

Just over the gate, there is a wall with a kinda door opening and a man and women stood there like statues just looking out towards the pike. Absolutely **** myself as it was unexpected and they were completely still.

Another night ride climbing upto pigeon tower from the back of the school we heard the sound of a kids playground. It was about 11.30 pm and both my mate and I heard it. I was slightly ahead of him and thought I was going mad so I waited and when he caught up he just said ” yep I can hear it just get **** ing pedalling.

Heading back to Bolton one night along the middle brook trail there was a witch walking along and it wasn’t Halloween.

Right that’s sealed me never doing a night ride up there! Night rides are terrifying enough without ghostly sprogs to worry about.

It’s all going on up there, eh?

A couple of interesting things I have seen over the last couple of years…

    – Naked man walking down San Marino with fully clothed pals, in December and with snow on the ground. Looked like the kind of guy you wouldn’t want to get in a fight with. Asked him “did you lose a bet or something?” and he just gave an unconvincing laugh. I didn’t hang around.

    – Man of African descent in flowing white robes stood below Two Lads singing a song about Jesus on a Friday afternoon.

    A porn shoot
    Battle re enacters
A group of 14 female lady riders
weirdest of all I once bumped into Hora.

Must have seen Chakaping by now – what bike do you ride?
If it helps I have long hair and a grey helmet – bike varies but all are black except the orange Love Hate SS

I also saw a large group of lady riders (possibly led by the blonde woman from The Cycle Show on TV) heading out from the car park in very high winds one Saturday lunchtime. Met them again an hour or so later at the fence before shooting huts – kudos to the Rivi ladies!

So that was you walking down San Marino naked then?

Sorry couldn’t resist. I’m usually on a black “thumper” or green Patriot. Do you still ride Tues eves? I’ll join you sometime if the offer still stands.

Two blokes in a secluded part of the woods (no bridleway there, we followed our own trail), one lashing another to a tree with stout rope. Both looked sheepish and mumbled good evening. The worst bit was my mate couldn’t see what was odd about this behaviour!

Virtually every night ride seems to involve bumping into fly tippers though. B’stards.

Is the face on the wall still up there ? I used to live on George’s Lane (last bungalow) & grew up in Horwich/ Blackrod. There used to be a face carved into one of the headers on top of a dry stone wall. We used to go there as kids after a few blasts on ‘natures finest’ & freak ourselves out.

On the MNPR a couple of weeks back we caught a chap having a ménage a un by the M60 junction 17 slip road.

I guess he has a thing for Eddie Stobarts.

I met a low-grade pornstar doing a photoshoot on the stone footbridge below the Gardens a few summers ago, as you do. I was rattling down the stairs and caught out of the corner of my eye someone not wearing much watching me from the bridge – got closer and she was doing a ‘glamour’ shoot with a photographer. She explained which dodgy TV channel she worked on, but I bluffed that I only watch mountain bike videos and beat a retreat 😳

fortunatley I’ve been spared the gory site of any of the sexual shenanigans up there (tho I seem to recall I was out the night JY saw the porn shoot but didn’t see it myself) but did see a couple of naked ramblers, as I rode up great hill I passed 2 guys with full on rambler backpacks dressed in speedos, on my way back down they had divested themselves of their swimwear.

One of the strangest was riding up horrocks fold, it was dark and we suddenly saw a dog walker just lying full length along the narrow trail, chatting on his phone, dog on the lead nearby.

Saw a similar thing on Ilkley Moor the other Friday afternoon.

Doubt it, cant think why anyone would put a jonny on a sweetie.

It did have the consistency of one though, it wobbled for ages after I punted it down the road.
