not been out night riding in ages (well, not on the mtb)…

finally got round to it tonight, and it was perfect! Having finally got the xt shadow rear mech actually working and feeling like it should do for the money it cost with the help of another set of new cables I had an ace ride. only a short one, but the temperature, the mist doing crazy things, the stars, the moon lighting up the mist… mad, lovely, scary. am very much back into the groove of night riding 🙂

now eagerly awaiting my just ordered cutter LED kit 🙂

That is all. I love night riding!

Yes….it’s brill. Rode with 4 other mates on tue night in swinley when it was -6C. It was so fast. I agree with trickydisco, somehow frozen mud is really grippy.

…until you need to brake 🙂 I was happily bimbling along a trail at a fair old lick (it was flat) and I got to a gateway (took me by surprise to say the least – got hidden in the cloud and mist!)… hit the brakes hard, and realised i’d just been riding through a couple of hundred metres of frozen ice and mud… the whole bike just shimmied to a stop. great fun!
