For how long do insurance companies (of the at fault driver) normally cover your travels costs?
Until I have the cheque in my grubby little hands?
    Until said cheque clears?
Until I get my new wheels?

Presume it’s the first, wondered about the second, hopelessly naive to think the third?

Until they settle the claim or you could never cash the cheque.

Yep, when the claim is settled.

so when is it settled? I’ve got a cheque for my bike, pretty quick work thankfully, I’ve paid it in, should be clearing any day now, emailed them a copy of my train tickets the day I received the cheque haven’t heard anything since no “we now consider this matter closed” or “here’s your travel costs” I’m about to contact them, don’t want to take the piss but don’t want to be fobbed off either, so I just wondered what was standard.

Travel costs I guess are a minor side matter so not normally a priority for either side hence the delay…?

I had this recently. The third party let me keep the hire car for 3 days after they money was in my bank account.
