    Fixed training bike, just done 40miles on it and my legs are shreaded! If you want to get fit then commuting on a fixed will do it!

    Most of the above bikes are too nice. What you need, is a proper ‘Pikey Bikey’:

    It’s tatty and rusty, but does not in any way attract thieves, is light, fast, and relatively maintenance free. Perfect.

    Now with XT SPDs (I have a secured compound at work to leave it). It’s not in the slightest bit practical for extended road use, but I try to offroad home as much as possible so it comes into its own.

    a year on and about 4,000 miles from this photo with no maintenance/ cleaning apart from a change of brake blocks and tyres and she’s looking a bit worse for wear now 🙂
