Yeah, I was looking back through this thread and thinking it’s gone a bit quiet compared to how many used to have go. Shame.

Possibly the first thing I’ve ever drawn.

    Cool 😎

I failed my o’level art, over 40 years ago. I’d not drawn until this thread started up a couple of years ago. I still don’t know what I’m doing, but I enjoy it, and I find it very relaxing.

Jonm81 – that match looks great!

AdamT – Likewise, I always try and do something a bit different for each prompt.

Over did the shading a bit on this one but It’ll have to do.

That’s exactly what I would have drawn, if I could draw, which I can’t. Nice.

Everyone can draw, its just a perception you cant. I have a introduction book I found years ago that helped a freind start drawing, now a active member of the local art club.

Would you like try the exercise they did ?

Open to all, we could all do it and compare note.

    Might be fun.

    For clarity,

Once of a time, I could draw in a ‘straight line with a ruler’ sort of way. I have an eye (and an understanding) for things like perspective. If you wanted me to draw, say, a house then I could probably make a reasonable fist of it. It’s when you move from ‘science’ to ‘art’ that I come unstuck. Stuff like Jon’s crab or Adam’s apple (ho ho!) just blows my mind.

That and, I’m a nervous wreck so anything that requires fine motor control I’m not great with. I’m sure it’s largely psychosomatic but the more I try to focus on something fiddly, the more my hands are likely to shake. Maybe I need to sink four pints first and then have a go. 😁

Would I like to try the exercise? No, but I’m open to trying.

That’s not ‘kind’. He’s got an umbrella and she’s still out in the pissing rain.
