What would you be and why?

Got asked this question at a wine training course last week. My answer was ‘Beefeater 24, fever tree tonic, 2 wedges of lime and plenty of ice, because I like nice things without being pretentious.’ Only to be told that I was clearly pretentious.

The best answer was ‘Pint of Amstel top – because I know what I like and don’t care what people think.’

I was going to say g&t, ice and lemon too. Traditional, dependable, you know what you’re getting and can rely on it. But if you want I can surprise you if you go just a bit beneath the surface (I can be ‘vanilla’ gordons with schweppes if you want, but I don’t have to be). But mess me about and I can be quite sour and leave you with a thumping headache.

A glass of water as this course is making me dull.

On here: tap water. Fairly tasteless, clear and sterile.

Like normal Coke, but with all the joy and useful stuff sucked out of it.
