Timely! Was after some new suggestions – Sonos and a Spotify premium account and except for The Huey Show I seem to be listening to the same old…

Missed out a few here and there, but got a lot of these suggestions on a Spotify playlist if it helps anyone

Listening to Love Notes/Letter Bombs, by The Submarines, which arrived from California this week, plus I’d suggest Breaking Up With You Is The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me, by Kata Gao, (download from Katamusic on Bandcamp), Songs For The Ravens, by Sea Of Bees, Hush, by Asobi Seksu, and Civilian, by Wye Oak. Also +1 The Joy Formidable, stunning album and a fantastic live band.

The album has everything. Dulli delivers his sermon with Dave Rosser’s guitar bleeding. Bobby Macintyre you are a legend.

It’d depend who it was. Generally I’d recommend the Go! Team’s Thunder Lightning Strike, because it’s ace.

I just listened to Revolver, twice. Wow. 45 years old and still going strong. Nearly as good as Rubber Soul.

Can’t believe nobody has suggested Radiohead’s “The Bends” yet!!! Amazing album, they went shit after that though, I don’t care how many people say OK Computer was good, it wasn’t!

Also, Chemical Brothers “Dig Your Own Hole” pretty much went under the radar for most, but I reckon listened to end to end in it’s entirety it’s their best album by far.

Recently got into Wolfmother, check out their self titled first album or thee follow up, “cosmic egg” if you were ever into Led Zeppelin…

Mylo’s “Destroy Rock and Roll” may seem quite mainstream to many, but in the early noughties his genre defining blend of pop, disco and house was truly awesome!

Red Hot Chilli Peppers “Blood Sugar Sex Magic”… Need I say more?

Oh, and for those above into Trentemoller, if you can, check out his Essential mix from a few years ago. Quite possible I’ve still got it as an mp3 if anyone wants a copy. 2 hours of absolute genius from the man!

Goldie “Timeless”… Most groundbreaking dance music album of the 90’s, if not ever. Showed the guy for the genius he is.

And that’s just a few I can think of right now, will undoubtedly have tonnes more when I switch my laptop on when I get home!
