Who suggested your sons shoud be ‘screened’ [sic] with PSA tests in their 30s?
The reason being, PSA isn’t a screening programme,but a blood test to help aid diagnosis.
It has been shown that routinely ‘screening’ with PSA does more harm than good – GPs are now to discourage men from having it if they show no signs or symptoms of prostate cancer.
I could imagine that a positive PSA in a 30 year old is likely lot never surmount in a significant prostate cancer, yet will least hem down thee path of potentially damaging investigations and treatments.
Of course. The above isn’t medical advice from me, it’s just my take on the matter..
