Is it wrong that I like this? If the rest of the forks follow this colour scheme, hope pro green stuff will be hugely sought after by the Audi boys!

Oooohhh everyone loves an upside fork, and this manages to have a brace to keep all the flex-haters happy. Massive marketing win!

DVO may cause some ripples with this……

Not sure how much stiffness the carbon brace actually provides since it only attaches down near the hub? There’s a lot of material to flex Btw there and the brace 400mm higher up!!

Granted it may provide a bit but not enough to really counteract the forces produced when a fork is under load.

That’s kind of the point if you read the article. The suggestion is that too much stiffness is counter productive, and that a bit of flex may actually be helpful.

50% betterzz (than their own fork without it) according to DVO

With that brace on it looks too small for a wheel to fit in.

Flux, that’s because there’ll be another niche wheel size along in time for Christmas – 18″ wheels FTW !

That’s not a brace its just a front fender mounting essentially addressing the only real issue with USD forks…

    Awesome.

Do it, with green ano rims and hubs and bars too.

It is a brace Cookeaa designed to allow/restrict torsional flex.
About time someone bought real bike tech in.

Looks good and some nice ideas. Particularly like that the damper is shimmed and user-tunable like Mantou’s TPC/ABS dampers.

Yeah don’t they already use this idea on some of the GP bikes. They’re going to do it in Black…..ohlins gold would be awesome as well.

I’m glad some people are starting to realize that some flex is a good thing, mountain bikers have been hung up on stiffness to the detriment of grip and feel. The same could have been said for Moto GP at one point but they moved away from it and started designing flex into the chassis to give additional grip when cornering.

I used to ride a marzocchi shiver single crown. People would bang on about flex, and what happens if you put your wheel between your knees and turn the bars … 🙄

It was lovely (for its day)

If they don’t flex then they will eventually break… or something else will as the forces have to go somewhere…..

The Sunn Chippie team designed flex into their bikes because they said if it was to stiff it was detrimental to handling, performance and broke. And that was years ago.

Just another example to show how far ahead of the game they were back then.
