    Amazingly, my youngest will be 10 next Monday, and we had lined up a trip for him and some mates to Forbidden Corner on Sunday. Weather forecast is grim (it’s high up in the dales) so we’re going to save it for another time.

    Looking for alternatives for 10 yr olds where we won’t be drowned rats. Geographically, anywhere from Manchester to the East coast, Yorkshire to Leicestershire? Might end up doing York museums again, but done them too often now, want something fresh. Thanks all.

    Media Museum in Bratfud? Coal Mining Museum nr Wakefield is another good’un – mainly for the underground tour which is ace.

    Just of M1 and lots to look at both indoors & outside in the huge estate grounds, kid friendly too
