I’m looking to use the creativity of the STW hive mind and pass the ideas off as my own in an attempt to look good and win influence.

We’re starting an offshoot of the company that needs to be branded entirely differently for unimportant and boring reasons – and it needs a name….

The offshoot will be selling training and employment services to companies. The name needs to be:

– Original
– Memorable (we’re going out selling it)
– Generic (eg, not really mentioning training/employment, etc.)
– Professional, but not an cheesey Apprentice style name like Pulse, Fusion, etc.
– Have that certain something about it

If I/we use the idea then a bottle of Bollinger/Ardbeg (or equivalent of your choice) is all yours.

Needs to have Solutions in it doesn’t it, all the new companies I see nowadays offer solutions.

Some kind of provenance would also be good so it can be explained where it came from. Eg, Google comes from Googol which is a massive number – perfect for something searching the entire internet.

Maybe a word in a non mainstream foreign language (STW loves a niche) would work well….

it implies you and the customer are following one path to success (and all that guff), it is also fun, swoopy, exciting and allows you to have a cool logo with the S being a swoopy trail. Maybe use the T as a tree to give you some green credentials. IF people ask about it, you can give lots of boring mountain bike analogies!

I also like animal names, such as:
