some fabrication outfit – ormandy in Halifax I think – noticed a couple of small Hillocks – wondered if that’s where you lot hung out ?
you need to get up here sometime.
my back garden leads out onto a proper mountain 🙂

noticed lots of nice deciduous trees there – contrast with our excess of pine trees up here – a wee picturesque mining village looked nice too.

we are blessed with some exellent riding around here.

if your not too familiar with the area head for studley pike & take in some of the townley loop,superb.

Best riding in the country seems a little over the top. Better than the Peaks? Better than The Lakes? Non!

Yes, appreciated, but the same could be said about The Lakes and The Peaks. I suppose you ride somewhere a lot you get to know where you should ride midweek.

Been up around Calderdale a lot over the winter but never had time to take the bike, going to change that soon. Any suggestions for bits to stick on or avoid on a loop going out via Stairs Lane / Bodkin Lane. Over on the Aire-Calder link to Hambleton Lane, then Odgen Water to Cold Edge and finish over High Brown Knoll then back to Hebden Bridge. Also best place to park in Hebden Area to start ride from.

Can you buy a back copy of issue 28? STW shop only seems to back as far as issue 34?

Blazing Saddles bike shop is a good place to ask about routes. Stubbing Wharf is a great pub with parking and ideal for start / finish. Hole in t’Wall also a good pub. Google to find their locations.
Also about 1 million other cares, pubs, restaurants, shops.

I’ve heard there’s a good guide operating there too 🙂

Try up Horsehold Rd, up behind the Co-Op, you can allways get a spot there.
