Brand new 4 pot SLX. Cracked a piston when bleeding and one of the larger pistons shot out at an angle and cracked. Ceramic bits everywhere.

    1. How do I get the others out to clean the debris
    2. Anyone able to recommend replacements.

New caliper time. Shimano don’t make spares 😭.

You can get spare ones on eBay. I’ve only used 2 pot ones but they work fine

You can get aftermarket alloy replacements on ebay.

You can pump pistons out (need to fit a new one and re bleed), blow pistons out with air, pull them out, split the caliper, just depends what tools you have. Obviously easy to damage ceramic pistons. If you are pushing them out or blowing them out you want to put something in the middle of the caliper that stops the pistons popping out about completely so you can get them all 90% out, optherwise just one pops out.

Might be wo ordering a set of aftermarket seals, at the same time – just in case you’ve damaged one. There’s loads of tales of leaks from both the piston seals and the transfer port o ring. I recently changed both on a leaky piston and it sorted it so might be worth doing preventatively?
