R Kelly, today charged with 10 counts of sexual abuse some with minors follows quickly after the disturbing Surviving R Kelly documentary.

I watched that documentary and it made me sick to my stomach, not only with the abuse, but with the manner in which he seems get away with alleged paedophilia, bullying, control and apparent enslavement of young and old women in a modern day society.

I hope he gets what he deserves, and considering the scale of his apparent reach how many will go down with him as part of his “cult”.

Must have missed this story, but doesn’t sound like I really want read it either.

It is.   Plenty to read  – its been public news for years, and worthy of conversation because its been so much in plan sight its amazing albeit sad he’s still  up to it.  Every accusation has been quashed to date, remains to be seen how this goes, it seems to have got multiple victims speaking out which is a key difference to the past, encouraged by the documentary’s exposure.

Sounds pretty damning from the initial reading I’ve just done.

My daughter’s school name their claases the year number and an artist’s surname. Her class for example is 5 Gaudi. There’s a reception class called R Kelly. Someone didn’t think that through did they?

The guy has been getting away with some bizarre stuff forever, everyone knows about him yet he still has women queuing up for a slice of it. Hope he gets held to account for the criminal aspects of it – ie the underage stuff and the non-consensual abuse. His legal team must be well versed in defending him by now though so I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets off and in 15 years time there is another round of cases.

Not sure what’s more disgusting, the offences or the fact he’s been blatently getting away with it for so long.

Let’s not turn the thread into a Trump comedy thread or ignorance of Kelly’s activity, which surmounts to the deliberate grooming, imprisonment via induced Stockholm syndrome – I don’t know the legal term – assault, battery, sexual abuse and pornographic recording of minors.  All alleged of course so says his lawyer yet in the public eye due to witness and victims speaking within the documentary.

This is a very serious issue which goes beyond Kelly also, into those that hid and endorsed his activity even perhaps reaching to the record company.
