Just exploring options for a bike build. Ideally I’d like to have drop bars but would also like hydraulic discs. Mmaybe bar end shifters for gears
I know shimano and SRAM are selling expensive sti shifters for discs but wondered if any companies are making stand alone road levers?

It’s not quite as neat but no horid I’ve got the hope vtwin thing on cx bike
    Works well lots of power.

Also have bar end shifter so just went with cheap shimano brake levers

If you don’t mind bar end shifters these are good

Not seen those trp ones before they look like a neat solution

I’ve got a set of the TRP HY-RD and they are really good.
Plenty of power and easy to modulate when you get used to them.

My new CX bike is just being set up with the Hope V-Twin.

The main downside (which I suspected when I bought it) is that it’s going to be very difficult if not impossible to run cross-top levers.
You’ll all say that that’s a good thing, they look rubbish, they’re for wimps etc but the bike is set up for the Three Peaks where they come in very useful.

Problem is that the very tight cable bend down to the V-Twin unit stops them working…

@crazylegs, would nokon/aligator cables or even more extreme solution inline rollers solve the cable run? Just remember that when i had Nokon cables you could get a MUCH tighter cable radius.

Cog hogs to make the 90 degree bend easier, crazy-legs?

Tried Nokon, if anything that was worse!
Problem is that as the bar-top lever moves, it plucks the cable end out of the housing. Even when that stays in place, it feels horrible at the lever.
