  • Hub rebuild- freehub not spinning and acts like it's fixed?!

I’ve rebuilt my Sram Roam 40 rear hub- it’s been quite nice putting it all back together. Bearing press worked perfectly and rather satisfying.

When I try to fit the freehub, the ratchet doesn’t work. The pawls and seal are flush and then it won’t rotate, it’s just fixed. I can’t work out why this is happening. Everything seems to be rotating true. If I pull the freehub out slightly it will spin and click, but not once it’s sitting flush..

    Any ideas?

usually it’s spacers either being missed out or put in in the wrong order. Hope Pro have a small spacer between the freehub and the wheel bearing, missing it out causes symptoms you’re seeing.

I’d guess either one of the bearings isnt fully seated or theres are spacer missing or mixed up.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll inspect it all this evening.
It’s a very simple order, so I think it’s probably a bearing needing to be re-seated.
