I’m not sure £1,200 is a good starting price for a hardtail in 2022 – you’d be hard pushed to get something with a dropper post at that level, and everything seems to have gone up by £4-500 in the past 2 years

You might not get a dropper post at that price point but it’s easy and not overly expensive to add a brand x dropper.

Great article. Not everybody is going to agree on all points, but as a starting point this is spot on.
