Needing to move soon (breakup + end of tenancy) and wondered if these can be found somehow? Otherwise I’ll just have to stretch to a 1 bed flat.

Depends where you are, I’m guessing there’s facebook pages etc. in more ‘outdoorsy’ areas. I’ve got mates in shares with garages but I’m in London so that’s pretty unlikely.
I got lucky and found a place with a second living room which is used as a laundry room / garage.
Otherwise I’d be looking for a basement or a large ground floor bedroom which would allow me to keep the bike inside.

As above, just find one with a cellar or garage thats useable.

Under the bed is an option but now that you’ll have more free time to ride (untill you get on tinder/grindr/scissr) getting it out to ride every day to avoid socialising with housemates is a faff.

I used spareroom.co.uk when I was out on my ear, as recommended on this very forum.

I used it to find a lodging in Sheffield. I’ve been in 2 now with elderly, chilled out landlords with big houses and loads of space. I’ve currently got a cellar that’s bigger than any flat I’ve ever lived in.

It was a fraction of the price of private renting and allowed me to get back on my feet.

Put a (stealth) advert up on here.

I’ve had a couple of tenants from here (waves if they are reading). I use spare room. I tried advertising on here but I’ve only ever had one person interested so I gave up.

(stealth advert- two rooms in Nottingham one available now, in a house with a massive cellar. One available in a few months in a house with a secure shed)

I have a lovely little mtb friendly flat up to let – well I find it MTB friendly but then I don’t care about carrying bikes up 100+ stairs 🙂

in the same boat- dont want to share but have to- and in Milton Keynes theres not much on spareroom with garage, secure shed etc.
ground floor flats are harder to find
so I’m looking for a move to northampton, sheffield, nottingham maybe, etc, where the rents are less and more space, and there’s more engineering type work.
Really its a case of asking if there’s outbuildings/garage etc on spareroom, and looking for a place that is suitable.
I saw a place today and I would go for it, if I could figure out how I can service my shock there without upsetting someone

I was lucky enough to already know someone in a house who gave me a tip off. It’s a nightmare trying to find somewhere with bike storage though, and often mentioning you have bikes really puts people off!

Definitely worth putting an ad on here I’d say. Good luck!
