  • How the chuff do I search for threads?
  • wheelsonfire1

I have been trying to contribute to threads from a while back. There was a search function above the forum before and a technical help button somewhere down the left. I apologise if I’ve missed something somewhere but I can’t find what I’m looking for! Feel free you technical bods to answer and close the thread but I’m finding it frustrating. No rush, I’m only mildly frustrated!

Open “Chat” or “Bike” and you’ll find a search box

@scotroutes Thank you! I thought it had disappeared, perhaps it used to be on the overview which is how I usually view the forum. Problem solved, much appreciated.

    It did.

Confused me until I found it by accident

I believe the To-do list includes the restoration of the Forum Search box to the Overview page

Type keywords + singletrackworld into Google. I have never managed to find anything using the inbuilt search function.

    +1

I use something like this in Google:

site:singletrackworld.com off road descent to hathersage

As above. Use Google. Type “site:singletrackworld.com ‘keywords'”

    Edit. Beaten to it

You still can’t. If you navigate to http://www.google.com and then enter site:https://singletrackworld.com keywords into the search box you get pretty good results. I don’t know if that’s any better than Martin’s suggestion ^^ but it’s certainly more complicated 🙂
    Edit: too slow

I use Google advanced search, same idea as just typing the command into the standard Google search but a bit more use friendly, you can put in specific phrases or select a date range, useful if you are looking for tent recommendations and don’t want a load of obsolete suggestions from 2008 🙂

…or harder to read? Too bold and kerning is too close.

But without the kerning we’ll miss all the burning gags

the search box was removed as part of the so called improvements, and the new improvement of making the titles bold makes it harder to read

See, I think it makes them easier to read. Weird, huh!

I’ve never understood why that hasn’t been done.  It has to be one of the easiest surely but it’s been missing since forever now

Edit: there seems to be an arrow at the bottom now on Android that does just that. Where did that come from?
