    14.6lb

    Cannondale Super6 hi-mod .. full sram force22 .. prime rp-38 wheelset – richey bars/post – speedplay pedals.

3-4 years old now … would get lighter with more money spent on it.

Most of my bikes have been around 7.2kg

Rather have a strong frame than a light bike!

Erm, about 12 kgs I think. Custom Rourke in Reynolds 931 but Rohloff hub’d on Ryde Andra rims (~700g each!) and 37mm tyres. Not a patch of carbon fibre to be seen anywhere on it but I have a Rolls Royce like ride to work and back.

About 7.4kg for my KTM road bike and 8.5kg for my gravel/adventure/whatever bike.

7.2kg for the bike I ride on the road (and on gravel).  That includes a 1.8kg frame and 1.9kg wheels with heavy tyres.

I am cheating a bit though as I don’t have brakes, gears or a freewheel…

Thread is pointless. unless you post a picture of bike being weighed and a picture of your own fat arse being weighed too. Bet you wont.

Pictures pointless without a current calibration certificate for the scales ;0)

Well that didn’t work, and it looked good in the preview, huh…

Anyway it was a list of tour winning bikes and weights since 1962. Whats interesting is how the weights fluctuate above and below 6.8kg until 2004 when the limit was introduced, then they are all bang on the limit.

Just sub 8kg here I think, Supersix hi mod with Alpha 340s, carbon cranks and v standard other stuff.

TINAS you realise plenty of £200 carbon framesets on eBay that could lose you nearly a kilo?

    Njee to the forum please

    Sorry I’m late 😀

I actually can’t remember what mine is, was 13-point-something without pedals IIRC, so low-14s or something mebbe:

    https://c1.staticflickr.com/2/1629/26477608210_b2c537b00b_c.jpg

Chinese carbon frame (920g actual weight), Dura Ace Di2, 1320g Tune/Farsports wheels, Bontrager XXX Lite bar and stem, Keo carbon pedals.

Steerer and rear brake cable now trimmed, and saddle and bars at better angles, god it looks weird in that picture!

My gravel bike is 9.3kg complete with pedals etc weighed on some luggage scales, no idea how you all get your bikes so light!

Frame + Forks – Viner Strada Bianca (1200g frame, 500g forks)

Wheels – Prime Pro Disc (1500g) with 38mm Vittoria Hyper tyres.

    SRAM Rival disc groupset.

All the rest of the bits are nothing special

I have some old everest stelvio size 51, that I have bought back home on forum, alpha 340 wheelset with hope hub at the back and some chinese hub at the front, 28mm schwalbe tires,Sram red 10 speed group, zipp service course sl stem/seatpost and also sl-70 bar. 7kg with pedals and bottle cage and elemnt bolt )

Rose Xeon GF – £1650, aluminium, Ultegra, Fulcrum 3s, carbon seat post but alloy bars and stem, fancy saddle but not light, 25mm Conti GP4000s with lightweight (only because that’s what Rose sent) Schwalbe tubes. 8kg on the nose with 2 x bottle cages and garmin mount (and turbo tyre actually when I weighed it).

Only things I’d be tempted to change for weight savings are bars and stem, everything else would be too much money. Could have bought lighter wheels but I like the Fulcrum adjustable bearing system.

Thread full of fat old men showing how light their bikes are… Needles dick measuring.

Also that trek with the dura ace wheels – ugly

Thread is pointless. unless you post a picture of bike being weighed and a picture of your own fat arse being weighed too. Bet you wont.

Wow, so much anger! Let me guess, you’re some weirdly aggressive 22 year old road racer, probably pretty quick etc. but really tedious company. You get angry at people comparing bike weights on the internet because you’re so single minded about your own riding that you can’t comprehend that, you know, some people just like nice things because they like nice things? Are you the same guy that ruins every ‘upgrade my road bike’ thread by telling people just to go lose some weight and train harder? 🙄

Never weighed it but it’s not much and probably around 7kg for £1600ish. Dengfu carbon frame and fork <1.3kg (weighed), full Sram force, ksyrium pro wheels with gp4000s, zipp alu finishing kit.

I genuinely have no idea how much my bike (2016 Specialised Tarmac Sport) weighs. I know it’s green and red though.

Edit – just Googled it and apparently it’s 8.28kg.

I’ll happily post a picture of my bike (and me) on some scales, but I doubt anyone cares that much, angry poster aside! We’re all just chatting about bikes on the internet. There are always some where you raise an eyebrow and say ‘uh huh…’, I suspect some think that about mine, which is fine! Some are really ugly and light, some look great but are heavy. In the grand scheme of things… WGAS?

I’m not that fat, but I do need to lose some weight certainly! I don’t race anymore, so I’ve not even got any pictures of me riding mine, sad times.

Go on then, how much do you weigh?

FWIW I’m 71kg @ 171cm. Normally around 68kg for racing. (Measured this morning and no my scales aren’t calibrated!)

And the road bike is a kinesis 3t with 105/ultegra and carbon tubs @ ~8.3kg. Is that acceptable?

83kg here, but given that I’m already doing all the riding family life will allow, would rather not be the sort of miserable bastard that calorie controls everything, avoids cakes and booze and generally starves himself, when I could just buy a nicer, lighter bike. It’s a win-win!

My scales must be bust, cos mine’s a lot heavier than comparative bikes – 7.5kg with pedals and bottle cages.

    bob_summers
    Full Member

7.5kg, light enough. Steel frame, record 11, Mavic CCUs, alloy bar and stem. Weight with pedals, cages, Garmin and a spare tub. As the angry drunk bloke above implied, I could well do with losing 5kg from my arse before worrying about the bike weight.

That said, I built a spares box special with an FM 066 frame, 24mm Chinese carbon tubs and it came in at 6.3kg without being too spendy

7.1 kg, without pedals.  Not bad for alloy. Such a great bike

Don’t have any scales to hand. How much does a 531c steel race bike from ca. 1989 weigh?

Down tube shifters must weigh less than the difference between STi shifters and ye olde brake levers? But then I do have fat 21mm tyres on it now which would slightly bump up the weight compared to new.

Something like 17.5lb, it’s twenty years old and was weighed when new out of curiosity. It wasn’t the lightest then, but it’s beautiful to ride. Full Dura Ace 9spd, Ksyrium (the original ones), Deda bars/stem. It’s not been used that much sadly

Those Bowmans do look great – saw one on the commute the other day, great looking frames.

So many bikes now are just really boring looking. I couldn’t bring myself to spend £9k+ on an S-Works, they look really dull and uninspiring IMO.

TINAS you realise plenty of £200 carbon framesets on eBay that could lose you nearly a kilo?

Really need (well, really don’t need) to strip it down and weigh the frame and fork again as I’ve lost the spreadsheet.

I like the CAAD frame so doubt I’ll be replacing it with anything generic for the sake of it, if it cracked I’d probably look at the hongfu or dengfu open mold bikes as my bike may be a bit weight weenie but my waistline isn’t. But as long as that doesn’t happen I’ll probably look out for something like bjj.andy.w ‘s SuperSix Hi-Mod or CAAD12 in the sales in a few years. Although having said that the new aero SuperSix is a bit ugly!

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that a 2005 ribble won’t weigh under 7k..happy to be proven wrong.

Like I said never weighed it, but the frame was ~950g, fork ~300g, wheelset <1500g

that leaves 5kg for the carbon stem, seatpost, saddle, bars and groupset. I don’t think that’s unrealistic.

It looks like an EC90 fork, which was very light, but nothing else I can see looks light. Mid-range Campag? No idea about those Xero wheels.

As with all these things though, devil’s often in the detail, I agree it seems light for a 15 year old budget aluminium frame though!

Edit: cross posted with the Ribble’s owner!

Daffy – I can’t actually see a weight in that photo, glare on the screen!

If that ribble frame really weighs 950 grammes then fair enough.. It looks aluminum to me but maybe it’s carbon. But given my canyon ultimate in size small from 10 years later weighs that, then I’m going to say that’s highly ambitious!

Those forks were very light, but I’m skeptical on the frame. I had a 2005 Trek Madone SL, and that was 1050g (claimed), which was light at the time. It was a hell of a lot more expensive than a Ribble too, not that that counts for much!

My Canyon Endurace, 2015 model with Campag Chorus and DT Swiss RR23 wheels weighs 7.1kg, including the pedals.  I swapped the micro suspension seatpost for a lighter rigid one and the saddle for an SLR XP, and run Hutchinson Fusion tubeless tyres.

If I put my cheap light wheels on, the weight drops 250g.
