anyone know how i would go aobut removing these type of cranks its on my mates bike and hes not sure exactly what type they are but so far we reckon they are 3 piece cranks and most likely dmr pigmy? anyone?

I’m not sure about the particular type of crank you have (is it a DMR or a Gusset one?)

Some 3 piece cranks have threads inside the crank arms and you can use a normal crank removal tool.

Profiles and similar designs don’t have the thread inside the arms. and to get them off you need to take out the bolt that holds the crankarm on, screw a special removal tool into the end of the axle, then hit it with a ruddy great hammer. This knocks the axle through the BB and the crankarm comes off. You can probably bodge something similar if you don’t have the removal tool – a short length of pipe or a narrow block of wood might do the trick.
