I just got some new forks that need the axle pinch bolts tightening to 2.15Nm.
Is there a torque clicker or similar that I could buy that would just do this pre-set torque? The closet I can find is a speedplay torque clicker but its 2.5Nm. This would be ideal though as the bits are swappable and replaceable.

I would rather not get another torque wrench as I already have 2 but neither go low enough and I wouldn’t use it for anything else. I have seen torque screwdrivers but they are expensive and I wouldn’t use the adjustment.

I normally just do things up as tight as I feel right and have never stripped a bolt yet but these may be undone and tightened a couple of times a week to get the front wheel off so would prefer to play it safe.

My thoughts so far are to just buy the speedplay one. How much difference can 0.35Nm make?

I tighten pinch bolts using the small end of the Allen key rather than the long end. You wont brake anything doing that

Screw it up until you feel some pressure and hand tighten another half a turn will probably be around 2.15nm – it’s sod all. Just don’t crank them up tight.

2.15 Nm is the first hint of resistance, the same as the preload cap on Shimano cranks

Yeah I only normally use the small end which has always worked out fine in the past. I know its probably come from a conversion but 2.15Nm seems very specific

I seem to under tighten bolts anyway. I was surprised ow much 5Nm was when I got my 5Nm torque clicker for tightening the stem bolts for carbon bars. I had probably only ever run around 3Nm before.

It’s just 20 lb/in converted to metric.

As above, it’s ‘finger tight’.

The Park TW-1 was good for this type of very light tightening but they seem to have discontinued it.

Bit expensive for what I want it for though. But I do have a think for Wera tools.
