    Hi all

My Shimano M530 SPDs keep creaking. This has also happended to other varieties of Shimano SPD that I have owned (M520s and M424s). I suspect it is caused by mud falling off my cleats into the pedal springs.
Have any of you had this problem, if so, how did you solve it?

    Thanks

My shoes creak. I’ve got over it as there’s nothing I can do.

When the pedals creak I tend to clean and lube them properly.

Creaking pedals….sure it is not the rubber shoe sole on the ‘body’ of the pedal?
Try WD40/GT85 on the sole and pedal then ride round the block.
    Silence?

    It was for me…

Check your bolt tightness, light oil on the pedal body/spring.

    How new is your footwear/pedals?

Thanks for the suggestions, no it is not my knees, not yet anyway.

The candle wax sounds intriguing, I’ll report back on progress.
