How do 29ers fit in go on with ….

    the holders on uplift/chairlifts?

was wondering whilst in the alps this year, never saw a single one in Morzine ( not that i can recall anyway) and at the time wondered how well those larger wheels sat in the racks on the chairlifts?

I have taken my 29r to les arcs twice now and the wheels fit in fine sometimes the look a little sketchy but it hasn’t fallen off.

Had mine in Morzine for Passportes Du Soleil and didn’t come across one in the week there that it didn’t fit. There are a couple where it just hangs by front wheel, where it doesn’t fit right in that didn’t look quite right, but you got think that they are designed to take 2.6 -2.7 26″ DH tyres, so not greatly different sometimes to my 2.3 29er tyres.

29er AM / DH have been far too niche for you to have spotted any / many in recent years. That hasn’t been a key market, so very few around and mostly in the USA. There will be more, but it will be slow in that arena.
