Morning all,

Living not far away from Hopton woods was debating going up this weekend to watch the HSBC sponsored DH event.

Anybody been before and can recommend? Decent enough for spectators, fair amount going on etc?

Hopton woods in Mirfield? Never knew there was a downhill course there if so. Born and raised in Mirfield and actually worked in the mill that’s next to the woods. This is what happens when you get in to MTB later in life. You miss the stuff that was on your doorstep.

I’ve photographed a race there. There are plenty of good spots to watch if watching is your thing.

It’s a cool venue. Take your bike and have a razz on the xc course. Some of it skirts the dh track.

Pearce events are really well done. I remember taking my daughter to watch a bmx national and being disappointed I couldn’t find a decent coffee…
