Sorry Im sure this has been done to death but Im new to the whole tapered headset thing.

Iv bought a new frame with tapered headtube and unbranded tapered headset. I want to fit my 1/18 forks (yes – that ol chestnut!).

I looked at getting the Hope converter crown things but wasnt sure it would all fit together properly.

    Iv seen this….

Will this do the job for me? I cant work out whether its for 1.5 or tapered headtubes or both?

    Thanks

    Hi Nd
Just put one of the Hope Pick-Mix headsets in with a 1.5″ to 1 1/8 step down 49.57 in the bottom. It’s a tapered head with a standard 1 1/8 fork.

The CRC listing you have posted is for the complete bottom bearing assembly which will do the job. However if you already have the bearing all you need is a converter. Hope have one in the pic but CRC do not list it in its priced items – HS136 reducer.

I have used one of these on a different bike. I think I got it from Biketart. I think but this is the thing: http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/hope-tapered-headset-item171193.html?gclid=CIOJ9tXD5rACFQQhtAodbG3ymw
