Just a FYI, I have been running std shimano SLX grade 6 bolt rotors with these calipers, i didn’t check, but then found the rotor arms nearly worn through as the brake track on the pads is deeper than the brake track on the discs (and deeper than the old M4)….

I caught this before I died in a fireball. But the previous advice on shimano rotors with hope breaks was always, go for it no problems, thought I’d try to let others know.

Hmm can’t say I’ve noticed and I haven’t got any recent pictures with RT76s but here’s an E4 with a Superstar rotor

The brake track looks fine. Are your adaptors/sizes OK?

I’m using the floating shimanos, and have zero issues on either bike

180 or 160mm rotors? If the former, are you using a Shimano or a Hope adaptor for the calliper?

Hope breaks, hope adapters, 203mm rotor matches the outside of the rotor perfectly, but the pad extends down past the brake track onto the rotor arms, and came close to going through.

For what its worth, no issues with the superstar rotor i have.

    yep, I concur with OP.
I initially set up my E4s on Shimano RT76 (XT) rotors.
203 front (Hope adaptor)/180 rear (direct post mount, no adaptor)
Yes, the pad extends below the breaking surface and down the rotor arm.
I swapped out the XTs for Hope rotors.
