  • hope 1/1.8 to 1.5 adaptor, should it be a tight fit on the crown/steerer ?

    as above,,,, should i be able to remove it quite easily by hand ?

    cant get it to bind to the steerer like a normal crown race even after a bit of persuading.

    is this right ?

    adaptor is brand new, forks 6 months old.

    Mine was an arse to fit as it was that tight (rockshox revelations )

    doesnt seem right that this componant should be a ‘loose fit’.

    tried it on 2 sets of vanillas and its the same.

    looks like its going back to the shop.

    I had the same problem on a set of TALAS 36s. With it hand tight the fork knocks over every bump ans will obviously wear the steerer. Tried it on me set of Totems and it was very tight, so i left it on there.
    Ended up getting a superstar ZS taper headset for £30 and using the step down crown race from that and it fits perfectly with my Crane Creek head set

    Does suggest thinner crown races stretch around the different size steerers where as the Hope hunk of metal doesn’t

    anybody else had a problem fitting adaptor to fox forks ?
