Asking on behalf of a mate, who poses the follwoing conundrum:

He has a Samsung Galaxy S8 phone, which he can use to play music (from Amazon Music Unlimited) on his Amazon Echo (the tall one)

He also has a couple of Apple Airport Expresses – each linked to an amp and set of speakers. He has to control his music played through these speakers from his W10 laptop, which is running an app called Airfoil.

He would like to be able to control everything from his phone. He likes that he can sit near to the Echo and shout over ‘play so and so by whatshisname’…and the Echo springs in to life. He doesn’t like that the Echo has a small speaker, and would like to be able to somehow link them so he can hear the music through the better speakers.

I have tries Googling, but am not sufficiently clever to know what to ask.

    Any tips?

Dump echo and get google home. Then add a chromecast to any speaker/stereo you like and bingo!

Echo has bluetooth and 3.5 speaker out so just add a BT or wired speaker. may be possible to run speaker out as input to amp?

Apple is Apple, they don’t do free interfaces… Chromecast is the answer
