  • HELP! What bottom bracket do I need?

I’ve got a 2011 Specialized Stumpjumper Pro Carbon frameset and a Shimano XT M760 chainset.
Bottom bracket is press fit type, which is new technology to me.
Specialized website says that bottom bracket is 84.5mm.
So, what bottom bracket do I need that is both compatible with the frame and the M760 cranks?
    Thanks.

You need a Specialized SM-BB91-42A adapter – only available from them, via your local dealer. Hope they’re in stock, can be a long wait otherwise!

    Are they HTII cranks?

    edit: just saw above.

amazing, thanks njee – do you just know this or do they publish this information on the web anywhere? – damned if I could find it on the Specialized site.
won’t be building it up until April probably so not in any great rush.

Please double check this, but I think you need a BB-91-42A.

I’ve got a 2010 Carbon FSR & have been wondering about this myself. I have a feeling that the shell width is not standard, so it has a different width inner sleeve….

    I THINK it is this:

but, as said, please double check. It might be worth sending an e-mail or calling Spesh UK to confirm.

njee20 – do you know whether the BB had an inner sleeve? Or whether it’s just the cups that press in?

See this pdf to see what I’m on about:

What is different about the BB on the Spesh that means you can’t just use a ‘normal’ BB91?
