Hi, one of the local kids needs his brake bleeding…my Avid nor Shimano brake bleed kits fit the reservoir or bleed valve. And I don’t know if mineral or Dot!

Looks like a Shimano brake pad.

Any ideas, it’s on a 26er pump bike, Dartmoor but looks quite cobbled together.

    Thanks

Look like Zoom HB-875. Think they’re made by Alhonga and sold under various names.

These are them. But can’t find out what fluid they use.

Why not open the bleed port and see what comes out?

Thanks, looks like them. Think it’s mineral oil, just seem odd bleed port sizes

Why not open the bleed port and see what comes out?

Or just douse them in petrol and see what colour smoke they make when they burn. If it’s black, it’s mineral oil. If it’s white, it’s DOT fluid.

Tasting it is another way. DOT fluid is really nasty. Mineral oil has a much sweeter taste.

This may help, it says mineral oil in the instructions
