Riding last night using my exposure enduro maxx I noticed the battery is only lasting around 20 mins on full. It’s been decreasing gradually for a while but I have used it for commuting and night riding for nearly 6 years since I bought it.
Anyway I thought I would open it up and look at changing the batteries. Knowing the front unscrews I removed the front. Realising I was in deep I tried putting the light back together and forgetting I ever tried to fix it. Unfortunately I have broke all the rubbery covers from the emitters and the light no longer works at all. I did find out after that the rear also unscrews allowing access to the battery. I have since mastered putting the front back on and would like to solder some new emitters on. If this works I will then buy some new batteries.
    So my questions are.
What emitter do I need? (Originally they are Cree p7 but I can’t find any to buy)
Is there an upgraded/newer/ better emitter I could replace them with?
Where can I buy them from?
    Which batteries and where from?

It seems a shame just to throw it away and I always like a challenge, successfully or not.

I already have a gloworm x2 that I use for proper night rides but I liked keeping the self contained exposure on the commuter for the winter.

    Many thanks

I have experience of their excellent customer service but I doubt when then poured all the bits out of the box it’s currently in they would be very keen on fixing it. Not at an economical price anyway.

    Just bumping this back up.
I still cant find anywhere I can buy cree p7 emitters. I have found a cheap supplier of p4 emitters but the output may be a step backwards.
Reading about the p7 it seems that it is 4 p4s in a bloc but I cant find any further info.

Any help will be gratefully received.

    Thanks for that link.

I’m even more confused now. My emitters look like more like the p4 emitters which ties in with a spec I read that said the light contained 3x 240lm emitters. the p7 emitters seem to be used in single emitter lights as they are a 4 die emitter which i think means they have 4 emitters in 1 housing (excuse my terminology) These seem to have around 800-900 lumen outputs.
The p7 looks like this http://www.kaidomain.com/Product/PhotoGallery/48040/183702#id=0

If they are the p4 i can get those quite easily from here

but the p7 I cant find for love nor money

notice the grid of 4 dies in the middle of the yellow bit.

The emitters in my light only have 1 die and look exactly the same as this one

have you tried emailing trout? http://www.troutie.com/ContactUs he could probably upgrade it and renew the batteries but i dont know how his price would compare to exposeure.
