My girlfriend has decided she wants to buy a bike, I’m very happy about this, and not bitter at all about the fact that during the 2yrs I was trying to persuade her, and even offered to buy her one the idea was met with luke warm enthusiasm at best.
Anyway, she wants a mountain bike, a hardtail, and cheap(ish) she’d have really liked a boardman ladies bike, but they don’t seem available anymore and not much used stuff about.
Halfords have big discounts on a Carrera and a Voodoo that fitted the bill, but neither available anywhere in 14″/XS size, she’s 5ft 2. Tried the 16″ Voodoo but miles too big. The 650b wheels aren’t really helping matters.
These are the 2 she liked, she’s very fussy on colour……..
Hard to beat on value for money I think, any ideas people, she’s pretty disappointed after deciding to splash out and not being able to get the right size!
MrsMC is 4’10” and has just got a Pinnacle Kauri 26. Looks very sit up and beg at her height, so might suit your girlfriend.
Rigid, but light, comfortable, 1×9, hydraulic discs. Great little bike, ripe for some upgrades when I can track down some light 26″ wheels in the classifieds.
I would look second hand – they do come up, you may have to faff a couple of weeks.
I agree with the vertically challenged, but at 5’2″ she should have some choice, for example she will be too big (likely) for smallest Trek, Specialized and Cannondale….
No help, but mrs_oab just picked up her new Trek on cycletowork (plus in sale) this week – 13.5″, light enough and seemingly a cracking bike to replace aged Cannondale F900SL 2016 Trek Superfly 6 13.5″ by Matt Robinson, on Flickr 2016 Trek Superfly 6 13.5″ and 2000 Cannondale F900sl by Matt Robinson, on Flickr
