Hello I’m new here. I’ve been lurking some time and enjoyed reading many of the posts. Some of which make me realise I’m not alone in my cycling thoughts.
Deep down I’m a bit of bike snob and there are certain things in the world of bikes, that my bike snobbery finds too much now and again.
? The sun comes out and so do the bike idiots. Riding their ill fitting bikes, dressed in the latest high street fashion with flip flops and sandals.
? People that pedal with their heels or the middle of their feet.
? Squeaky rusty chains (other peoples)
? Is a prerequisite of liking 29’ers and or a single speed being a stoner?
? Pushhhhing big gears. Change gear big man, no one’s impressed.
? When I’m on my road bike, mtb’ers that ignore a hello or a polite head nod (and vice versa)
? People that wear Rapha (other than the team riders)… bellends
? Recumbents WTF?
? Saddle too low, riding bow legged (with heels)
? Fixies, save ’em for the track.
? Super narrow bars. Wannabe couriers.
? Flats Vs Clips debate. There’s a time and a place for both.
? MTB’ers that ride road in their baggies. Get over it no one wants to look at your nuts in lycra.
As for the likes
? rides that flow; roads, single track, jumps.
? old timers. inspiring.
? couples on tandems. true love. inspiring.
? long road climbs. meditative.
? a dialled bike.
? dry rides.
? very wet rides.
? racing.
? riding alone
? riding with friends
So that’s a little hello from me. I’m off to lurk in the shadows.
