- Hawes or Harrogate for a weekend?

Hawes for a simple get away…id recommend Yorebridge House Hotel in Bainbridge for a real get away..get a Hottub room and its perfect. There is a fab one overlooking the river. I take the missus a couple of times a year for some kid free time. 😉 £300+ plus a night though 😯unklehomeredSubscriber
Harrogate is the place of the devil, only a fraction of it is as picturesque as the very carefully framed pictures would have you believe, and people bigging up its nightlife makes me snort with laughter, after 5pm its a ghost town. Go to Hawes, Wensleydale is beautiful, loads of stuff nearby.Posted 5 years agounklehomeredSubscriber
How can you possibly say that? Harrogate planning department seem to have one rule, anything being built must in no way fit with any of its surrounding buildings.
And having lived in vibrant towns and cities I’m always struck when I come back by how empty Harrogate is on a night, mostly due to their being no pubs or bars around the pedestrianised area.Posted 5 years ago
