Long story short, my Remedy’s getting refinished but some of the paint has turned out to be the most indestructible bike paint known to man- my guy’s stripped parts of the frame but is struggling with the main triangle, which is obviously a bit of a problem halfway through. So, just wondered if anyone’s done this or had it done and how they went about it. Everything’s got its weaknesses, it’ll obviously abrade off with enough elbow grease or blasting, but maybe there’s a chemical that’ll do it easier

It’s a 2014 Remedy 29, in the ugly black, if that’s any use. Or it was!

    No pitchforks btw!

How’s it being stripped? Chemical, blasting or lots of manual work with wet & dry/wirewool/panscrubbers?

Wouldn’t wan to recommend the method he’s already trying.

Either that or dipping would surely do the job.

A friend did this and ended up having to be sand blasted. He tried nitromors and also another blast method (bicarb or baking soda) But it wasn’t abrasive enough.

    Nitromors

Doesn’t work anymore. The main ingredient is no longer available to Joe Public.

You can sometimes buy commercial stuff if you know a friendly local paint shop.
