that was my plan too to get myself a nice bike for my 40th

just over a year ago now and still not got the funds 🙁

never let sentiment be an excuse for poor performance. use what fit’s your hands better or whose shifting you prefer.
shimano on my pegoretti mainly because its better then campag (for me) and it’s me riding it not anyone else.
as for the saddle? whatever fits your arse the best and is the most comfortable. (presuming the bike is for riding not hanging on the wall 🙄 )
