I use a trailstar on the front for trail centres/rockier places and have been very impressed so far. Go up easily tubeless as well. Not worth the uk rrp cash but certainly worth getting from the usual German sites.

Yeah they’re great; £60 a pair delivered from Germany means they’re a bargain too

I much prefer it to the High Roller it replaced up front. And I can now ride a steep slithery/rooty/steppy chute on my local trails which I couldn’t before.

    Yep, superb!

Weight is what you’d expect for a 2.35 (and they’re pretty generous at that) and they roll quicker than they look (as long as you don’t put a trailstar on the back).

Definitely a very good tyre. Not sure it is worth the extra dosh compared with other tyres on a cost vs. performance basis. If you can bring yourself to spend that on a tyre then why not? I happened to have a voucher so used it on a HD. If it were my own cash I would have got a Specialised Purgatory.

And they’ve arrived in time for the weekend!
    Happy with that..

    3 day turnaround from Germany?

    Sweet.

Now which way around is it?

Pace Star front, trail star rear? Or the other way around?? 🙂

I have had a pair (pacestar both ends)since September. Ridden Snowdon, big loop round the Hope Valley in The Peak, couple of trips to Cannock and a very wet week in The Lakes. Haven’t really thought about the tyres they just do what they do.

And despite whacking a few rocks with the back end only one pinch puncture (at Whinlatter) which was definitely down to me not the tyre.

Trailstar front (it’s the softer compound).

If you ride on the fork, you’ll get less than a year from a trailstar tyre on the front IMO.
