- Good mountain biking near a beach….
+1 for Doug.
Plenty of other interesting things for the missus to do, loads of beaches and open spaces for the kids to run around, plus the fact that Spain is super friendly towards kids and families. Not to mention the food, which is just amazing.
You will need a guide though, you will not find the trails without Doug, and the routes aren’t hidden away somewhere online where you can do a sneaky download for your GPS.

Lake Garda was in the back of my mind. Can anyone recommend any family friendly accommodation?

Italians are so mega friendly, and love kids – just about anywhere on the lake. North (Riva del Garda) and Torbole are good bets, plenty of signed routes, uplifts, gnarr, plus holiday stuff like a beach, swimming, sailing, pools, promenade, etc etcPosted 3 years agobrassneckSubscriber
dorset campsites – toms field @ langton matravers nr swanage. loads of riding, coast, beaches, pubs. walk to dancing ledge or the square and compass at worth matravers.
if thats full theres one up the road or a nice old farm campsite at harmans cross.
Or Burnbake – can cycle to Studland on traffic free good trails (apart from a 5 minute time trial on the ferry road, much to the tag a long passengers approval.. choruses of Shut Up Legs from the back)Posted 3 years ago
