Hmmm they all seem to be plastic which I find odd, any recommendations?

Plastic pedals has just been the y way it has gone in BMX.

Are you going to be riding trails? Grinding the pedals? If so, metal are the way to go.

I’d suggest fly ruben or ns airiel pedals on the upmarket end, on the cheaper end, odyssey trailmix or hoffman soulmate.

If you don’t need the muddy grip or grinding toughness of metal, plastic is definitely the way to go. Cheaper, lighter and last just as long if you aren’t grinding. Some are actually really grippy such as the fly ruben or abikeco (animal) hamiltons. They save the soles on your shoes too.

Middle ground is odyssey JCPC, plastic body, metal pins holding the body together, body runs straight on axle allowing a massive strong axle. Fast grinding plastic + metal pin grip, almost the best of both worlds.
