    Hello all,
    Just a quick one,
Bought 2nd hand 454 Air U-turns, was adjusting the pressure for the 1st time, disconnected the pump from the lower valve and found the pump connector had filled with a grey-green watery slime, obviously from the fork internals.
With no experience of air forks before, what the bejesus is this? Normal?
Forks seem normal in every other way…

    What to do?
    Thanks!

It is oil in the negative chamber and there should be a small amount but not loads. However, if it has water in it it is probably time for an oil change and service.

Dont panic its meant to have oil there,It lubes the seals.

….make sure you deal with the BOTTOM valve with the forks UPSIDE DOWN….

Otherwise you’ll get oil, not air in the pump!

    Dr P +1.

The negative chamber (and the positive one too) have a small amount of oil in to lube the seals.
If you open the negative chamber with the forks the right way up then the oil is free to fall / be blown out of the chamber (which will of course result in no oil left after a while and a failing seal eventually). Best to turn it upside down to adjust the negative.
