Working from home has killed my old pair of Tesco’s “buy cheap buy twice” specials, so what are you guys using?

Need to be able to withstand a quick trip to the bin or shed in the rain, not too hot, not too cold, not too sweaty, not too smelly.

What are the Goldilocks of the slipper world?

Crocs in the summer, North Face tent mules in the winter. Both will do light outdoor duty.

Crocs for the bin trip, Tesco or whatever you can find for £10 for inside. Bare feat in summer!

    The Rolls Royce of slippers…

Sheepskin so not too hot or ever cold. No stink. Rubber sole for bin trips.

    Birkenstocks Arizona.

I’m several years and 2nd pair in.  Mold you your feet and beautifully comfortable.

Succumbed to my first ever pair of slippers as I’ve always associated them with a time of life where I’d be drinking a cup of Horlicks in front of the Antiques Road Show waiting for the home care to arrive to change my pad and put me to bed. But after 20 years of freezing my feet off in my fridge of a home this winter Mrs Devbrix bought me a pair of Glerups slip ons and to be fair they are great but quite expensive.

Toms. Hands down the best pair I’ve ever had. Not cheap but built like they will last forever. Super comfy too

    Standard Clarks slippers.
Sister manages a Clarks shop so I get mine a bit cheaper, held back from sales or her discount.
Trick with slippers is to discard them after 4-6 months.

Crocs with the old lady furry insert:

    https://www.crocs.co.uk/p/classic-blitzen-iii-lined-clog/204563.html?cgid=men-footwear-clogs&cid=22Z#start=34

Brilliant for winter, but warm at times in summer. Only ones I’ve had that don’t stink to high heaven, bonus being you can remove and wash the insert.

+1 for Toms. They don’t go slack and fall off your feet and haven’t yet started to fall apart.

I’ve seen it all now. A “what slippers” thread on a bike forum.

Get a pair of thongs mate (or flip flops as they’re called in the UK) or slides so you can wear a nice pair of white socks with them?

Eagerly awaiting the “what smoking jacket and pipe” thread ;o)

    Fleecy Crocs winter.

Anything else works less-well because facts.

(And yes, they look daft. All slippers look daft. If you think otherwise then give your forehead a slap)

In my defence, you’ve seen a slippers thread on the Chat forum.

    Wrong.
    Wrong.
    Wrong.

Apart from bike shoes, and gardening, I’ve pretty much only worn Reef Phantoms since April.

My flip flop tan is already at end of summer levels!

I second the Haflingers, comfortable, you can get ones you can wear outside and don’t look too slipperish.

OK, a what slippers thread in a chat sub-forum on a mountain bike website. 😛

    Still. Feels weird man.

Flip flops / thongs / jandals….. Comfy and practical. Especially living in Aus near da beeeeeech. I turn my noses at you sweaty-footed slipper wearing English pig-dogs.

I had no idea what accent to read that in – some sort of hybrid French/German/Aussie twang
